Anna McClain Washington is best described as a renaissance writer and self-taught artist. She says, “Pen, pencil and paper have provided sanctuary since my earliest challenging childhood.”

At only 15 years old, Anna met the man she would later marry and who is still the love of her life. With encouragement from her husband, drawing and writing continued to be an important part of her life, but raising a family became their first priority and greatest joy.

Anna’s three children united to buy her a lap-top computer, and challenged her to follow her dream. She honed her skills and has immersed herself in writing classes and conferences. She invites readers into her unique style of writing by blending openness, honesty, wit and real-life drama with an abundance of love.

Audie and Me, Sisters Forever, a touching memoir of growing up together, then losing her sister to Multiple Sclerosis, is the initial response to the challenge from her children.

Anna’s next project, My Life With George Washington, sharing realities of living with a famous name, is receiving more cautious encouragement from her husband, George, who lives with the name every day.

Anna has won competitions with her writing and her artwork. She is an active member of the Idaho Writer’s League and has served as its secretary at both state and local levels. She is also a member of Bitterroot Mountain LLC, a cooperative publishing company. She has lived in Montana, Delaware, Illinois and Oregon. She presently lives with her husband in north Idaho. Her family and grandchildren still provide great joy
